Job summary

Reingold, a leading marketing and creative firm in Alexandria, VA, seeks a Lead Agentic Software Engineer to architect and ship AI-enabled platforms for CMS, e‑commerce, and web apps. You will deploy agentic AI, build reusable tooling, and set engineering standards for government, nonprofit, and commercial clients.

The role blends senior software engineering with practical AI, requiring on-site collaboration at Reingold's headquarters at least two days weekly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or related field plus 7+ years delivering production web apps.
• Deep experience with enterprise CMS (WordPress, Umbraco/.NET, AEM) or headless CMS.
• Strong full-stack skills with React/TypeScript, API design, relational and NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on engineering of e-commerce storefronts, checkout, and orders.
• Production experience with large language models and agent/automation pipelines.
• Automated testing design for CI pipelines and accessibility testing.
• Clear technical communication to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain government suitability/clearance if required.

Responsibilities

• Bring AI agents and automation into client products and delivery pipelines, end-to-end.
• Design, build, and ship production web apps and integrations across modern JS stacks.
• Define evaluations of agent behavior and iterate on production systems.
• Establish responsible-AI and data-governance practices for public-sector work.
• Lead architecture and development on enterprise content management platforms and integrate with AI services.
• Design and build e-commerce solutions and connect to CRM/analytics.
• Deploy and operate applications on a major cloud platform with CI/CD and cost management.
• Own quality with automated tests and accessibility checks across projects.
• Mentor developers and share learnings across teams.
