Job summary

OutSystems is seeking a Principal Agent Experience Designer to pioneer AX, bridging human- and agent-centric design across UAX and AX. You will mentor teams, shape product strategy, and create new design artifacts like operation contracts and trust specs.

You will lead in a complex, enterprise SaaS context, influencing product strategy and establishing standards for agent-readiness while ensuring safety, observability, and cost-awareness across all levels of operation.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in UX, Product Design, or related disciplines.
• Demonstrated experience designing for complex B2B SaaS or platform products.
• Strong foundation in systems thinking, information architecture, and semantic design.
• Experience working in and leading cross-functional teams (design, engineering, product management, AI/ML).
• Experience with the full design lifecycle: research, ideation, prototyping, testing, iteration, and delivery in Agile environments.
• Expert in Figma, Figma make, Cursor, Claude Code, Codex and modern design tools.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex agent-system interactions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Define and design the machine-operable substrate beneath/alongside the UI for AX.
• Develop design assets for AX, including operation contracts, behavior policies, trust specifications, and evaluation criteria.
• Own the end-to-end AX design process: Model → Contract → Constrain → Observe → Validate → Run → Learn → Version.
• Define operability gates for every agent workflow: determinism, safety, observability, recoverability, and economics.
• Build evaluation frameworks: golden tasks, regression sets, adversarial scenarios for version changes.
• Design for interactive, supervised, and lights-out modes with appropriate risk and oversight.
