Job summary

Axion is seeking a senior Software Engineer to architect and scale agentic systems at the core of our platform. You will own design decisions that determine how our agents reason, act, and integrate with enterprise data, collaborating with Engineering and Product leadership.

The role focuses on building reliable, data-intensive, non-deterministic AI systems. You will mentor engineers, push for production-grade reliability, and help shape the technical roadmap while maintaining a Data First

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of software engineering experience with agentic systems (LLM orchestration, tool calling, multi-agent reasoning).
• Proven ability to design and own complex distributed data-intensive SaaS systems.
• Strong understanding of non-deterministic, AI-driven systems and their observability.
• Experience turning messy real-world data into model-friendly formats.
• Proven mentorship to engineers and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture for agentic systems, including orchestration, memory, retrieval and guardrails.
• Scale the reasoning layer from data ingestion to root-cause insight at enterprise scale.
• Establish rigorous evaluation for non-deterministic systems with ground-truth comparisons.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product to define the technical roadmap.
• Lead by example, review code, and mentor peers.
