Job summary

Deloitte is seeking a Lead AI and Data Science Engineer II to design and deliver Claude-based generative AI solutions for enterprise clients in the United States. You will own architecture across multi‑agent platforms, orchestration, tool integration, and governance guardrails. Travel up to 50% may be required as projects vary by client needs.

You will lead engagements, mentor teams, and contribute to strategic growth while guiding clients on responsible AI practices and model selection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, AI, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience designing, developing, and delivering production AI/ML solutions, including at least 1 year delivering production Generative AI or Agentic AI systems.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience developing AI/ML applications in Python.
• At least 1 year of direct experience designing or implementing production agentic workflows with orchestration, tool integration, state management, evaluation, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop controls.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience developing agentic AI solutions using Claude Agent SDK, including agent orchestration, tool integration, permissions, or MCP integrations.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience developing and deploying production solutions using Anthropic Claude models.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of AI solutions for client engagements.
• Own the architecture of Claude-based Generative AI and agentic solutions, including RAG pipelines, embeddings, and tool-use architectures.
• Design cloud and hybrid data architectures to support Claude/Anthropic deployments.
• Build and govern LLMOps practices, including evaluation, monitoring, prompt lifecycle management, and guardrails.
• Manage day-to-day stakeholder relationships aligning delivery with business goals.
• Oversee quality of deliverables and contribute hands-on to solution delivery when needed.
• Support practice growth through proposals, thought leadership, and go-to-market content.
• Coach and upskill practitioners transitioning onto Generative AI and Claude-focused work.
