Job summary

Youth Guidance is seeking a part-time supervisor to oversee students in before and after school programs at Ravenswood Elementary in Chicago. You will promote the program values and support school staff while ensuring safe, constructive activities for students.

The role requires effective communication, flexibility, and a proactive approach to program development, homework help, and parent engagement within CPS guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must have minimum of High school Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Ability to understand policies, procedures, and the general organizational structure of the Chicago Public Schools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proactive with projects and follow through in a timely manner with an end result that adheres to the Resource Coordinators vision.
• Flexible with program assignments and adapt to changes on the fly.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision of students in before and after school programs.
• Promote the values of Youth Guidance and the assigned school.
• Maintain behavioral expectations for students.
• Collaborate in development of and facilitate before and after-school programs with curriculum development and lesson planning.
• Assist students with homework and projects.
• Escort students to and from programs following the schedule.
• Distribute program information and publications used to promote programs and enrichment offerings.
• Support regular school day administration and staff.
• Communicate information to and provide support for parents.
• Provide conflict resolution with children, parents, families, and staff.
