Job summary

Good Shepherd Services, Ltd seeks a Program Director, LEAP @ PS224, to lead the after-school program both in-person and virtually. The role oversees staff, enrollment, activities, safety, and reporting requirements, reporting to school administration.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Child Development or NYS Administrator Credential is required.
• School-Age Child Care Credential is required or equivalent.
• Two years of college with 18 credits in relevant fields is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and supervision for the LEAP after-school program.
• Coordinate program and staff scheduling.
• Supervise and evaluate staff and volunteers; conduct timely evaluations.
• Develop and lead weekly staff meetings.
• Coordinate enrollment and registration for all programs.
• Develop and oversee engaging, age-appropriate activities.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness of the site.
• Communicate with parents about program expectations and health and safety issues.
• Provide daily crisis intervention with participants on school-related issues.
• Utilize internal databases and prepare narrative and statistical reports promptly.
• Coordinate activities with school staff and DOE personnel.
• Participate in school-based teams or committees.
• Foster partnerships with community groups and Good Shepherd programs.
• Monitor program budget and assist with program evaluation activities.
