Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne is hiring part-time childcare workers to support after- and before-school programs at local elementary schools in Fort Wayne, IN. You will create a safe, engaging environment and implement scheduled activities for children by collaborating with site staff and program leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• Experience in supervision preferred.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Experience in the supervision of multiple children.
• Ability to handle situations quickly, kindly, and fairly.
• Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.

Responsibilities

• Provide childcare support, Monday through Friday, in area elementary schools for the Before and After School YMCA Program.
• Provide diverse participants with educational and age-appropriate activities to promote a safe, fun, nurturing learning environment.
• Demonstrate leadership by planning curriculum and coordinating with staff and directors.
