Job summary

Parker Aerospace in Akron seeks an experienced Structural Analysis Engineer to lead structural assessments for aircraft braking systems and related components. This role supports concepts through to in-service phases with cross-functional teams.

The candidate will perform strength, fatigue, and vibration analyses, select materials, and contribute to testing and qualification activities to ensure safety and performance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience with structural and structural dynamics analysis.
• Experience with linear and nonlinear statics, buckling, fatigue, and dynamic analyses.
• Background in fracture mechanics/crack propagation analysis.
• Proficiency with CAD/FEA tools such as CATIA and ANSYS.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to drive tasks to completion.

Responsibilities

• Provide structural analysis support for aircraft wheels, brakes, and brake control system components.
• Analyze and size structures for strength, stiffness, fatigue, and damage tolerance.
• Identify suitable materials and design allowables for structural components.
• Support material characterization, prototype and qualification testing.
• Communicate decisions and recommendations to partners and customers.
• Collaborate with designers, engineers, and cross-functional teams.
