Job summary

Archer in San Jose, CA seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead major airframe assemblies from concept through certification and production ramp. You will apply load-path understanding and hand calculations to design robust, certifiable structures.

You will perform stress analyses (FEA and hand) and publish analysis documents, support design reviews, testing, MRB, and collaborate with design, manufacturing, QA and suppliers through the entire development process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering or related field.
• 10 years of experience with structural analysis of composite and metallic aerospace components, including FEA and hand calculations.
• Experience with certification of aerospace components and complex loading scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural airframe assemblies design from preliminary design through certification.
• Apply load paths and design best practices to robust configurations.
• Provide technical guidance on design concepts balancing risk, cost, and performance.
• Demonstrate structural integrity via hand calculations and FEA.
• Prepare and publish stress analysis documentation.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, QA, and supply chain to drive improvements.
