Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, part of RTX, seeks a Principle Product Definition Engineer to join the Assembly Equipment Engineering Design team in Middletown, CT. You will review and correct blueprints, ensure conformance to ASME Y14.5, and collaborate with diverse engineering teams on product development.

The role emphasizes mentorship of junior engineers, adherence to manufacturing standards, and driving efficient NPI cycles in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• 8 years of engineering experience or an Advanced Degree with 5 years of engineering experience.
• Experience with mechanical design, drafting and engineering review within manufacturing, industrial or assembly equipment environments.
• Ability to obtain government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Review, verify and correct assembly equipment blueprints. Adhering to Assembly Equipment Engineering standards and procedures, following ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Reporting and Communication: Create checked blueprints and provide clear, actionable feedback to design engineers.
• Methods Development: Contribute to initiatives to develop methods and technologies to enhance engineering processes and reduce NPI cycle time.
• Collaboration and Project Management: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams during product development, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and ensure clear communication.
• Leadership and Mentorship: Mentor junior and new engineers in learning and developing accurate drafting.
