Job summary

ITG Communications is seeking an experienced Aerial Telecommunications Lineman to lead field crews on aerial installations and maintenance for fiber and copper networks. You will oversee ground personnel, interpret construction plans, and ensure safety compliance on site.

The role requires climbing, operating bucket trucks, and coordinating with crews to meet project specifications while maintaining high quality and productivity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Telecommunications or lineman training preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• 3+ years of aerial telecommunications construction experience.
• Experience reading telecom prints and design maps.

Responsibilities

• Perform aerial telecommunications construction activities including pole climbing, strand placement, cable placement, and lashing.
• Lead and direct groundmen and crew members in aerial construction activities.
• Interpret telecom construction plans, design maps, and fiber route documentation.
• Install aerial telecommunications infrastructure including messenger strand, fiber optic cable, copper cable, anchors, hardware, and related components.
• Operate bucket trucks, utility vehicles, and other aerial construction equipment.
• Ensure installation practices comply with NESC, company standards, and client specifications.
• Identify and resolve field construction challenges including clearance issues and route adjustments.
• Perform quality checks and document progress, materials, and field conditions.
• Maintain safety policies including PPE, fall protection, and work zone safety procedures.
• Train and mentor junior crew members.
