Job summary

Harvard University’s SEAS seeks an Assistant Director of Undergraduate Studies in Engineering Sciences with a concurrent lectureship. The role advises, leads, and teaches to advance undergraduate Electrical & Computer Engineering and Environmental Science & Engineering programs.

The ADUS collaborates with faculty and staff, leads course and program operations, and participates in accreditation and policy processes while fostering an inclusive engineering community.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in electrical engineering, environmental engineering, engineering design or closely related field is required.
• Cover letter and CV submission is required for consideration.
• Demonstrated ability to teach, train, advise, or mentor undergrad students or early-career professionals.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with commitment to inclusive education.

Responsibilities

• Provide undergraduate advising for ECE and ES&E programs and guide students toward goals.
• Lead hands-on, project-based learning by teaching or co-teaching undergrad courses.
• Oversee program operations, degree audits, and ABET accreditation activities.
• Support governance via the Undergraduate Engineering Committee and maintain curriculum docs.
• Mentor students linking academics to research opportunities and internships.
