Job summary

The Senior Mechanical Engineer for Active Learning at Harvard SEAS leads hands-on mechanical engineering labs, coordinating with faculty and staff to create and implement engaging lab activities for undergraduate and some graduate courses. You will mentor students, train teaching fellows, and oversee safety while maintaining lab facilities.

You will also support hardware development, including 3D printers, laser cutters, and CAM tools, and collaborate with a diverse team to advance SEAS'

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• Minimum of three years of related work experience beyond college degree.
• Advanced degree is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with CAM and rapid prototyping tools such as 3D printers, mills, and laser cutters.

Responsibilities

• Provide lab instruction and technical mentorship to students and staff.
• Lead development of course-based resources and demonstrations.
• Support hands-on workshops and activities.
• Maintain and set up lab equipment and tools for experiments.
