Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Principal Actuary to provide advanced actuarial analysis for rating, pricing, valuation, and forecasting. This role partners with teams across health programs and supports Network Management, Underwriting, and Sales.

Leadership on assigned projects is possible. The position offers a Hybrid Flex arrangement with in-person collaboration at the Durham headquarters and remote work flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree is required.
• ASA and MAAA memberships are expected or considered.
• 5+ years of experience in actuarial field.

Responsibilities

• Actively contribute to the Actuarial Services team's success.
• Handle highly complex actuarial modeling.
• Lead and/or provide consultative support to projects as an expert in the field.
• Assist in Rating/Pricing and Develop/Maintain rating models.
• Perform Medical Trend analysis and support expense factor development.
• Conduct Experience Studies and Rating Factor Studies.
• Support Rate Filing development and Financial Forecasting.
