Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Principal Actuary to provide advanced actuarial analysis, pricing, valuation, and financial forecasting. You will partner with actuarial teams and support Network Management, Underwriting, and Sales and Marketing. Leadership on projects is possible.

The role emphasizes expertise in health insurance math, statistics, and business principles, with opportunities for team leadership and cross-functional collaboration across segments and states.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required).
• ASA and MAAA membership or progress toward designation.
• 5+ years of experience in related field.
• In lieu of ASA, alternate actuarial credentials may be considered.
• In lieu of 5 years of experience, Fellows of the Society of Actuaries may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Actively contributes to the success of the Actuarial Services team.
• Leads and/or provides consultative support to assigned projects and is viewed as an expert in the field.
• Assists in Rating/Pricing and develops/maintains rating models.
• Perform Medical Trend analysis and support rate filing development.
• Support Administrative Expense factor development and conduct Experience Studies.
• Assist in support for Financial Forecasting and for Network Management.
