Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Principal Actuary to provide advanced actuarial analysis and technical support for complex rating, valuation, and forecasting. The role partners with teams to ensure coordination across health programs and may include team leadership on projects.

You will contribute to rating and pricing, develop rating models, perform medical trend analysis, and support financial forecasting with FP&A and Underwriting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree is required.
• ASA and MAAA membership are preferred or equivalent credentials.
• 5+ years of related experience or Fellows of SOA (FSA) considered.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to complex actuarial modeling and pricing work.
• Provide consultative support to projects and lead initiatives.
• Support rating, pricing, and financial forecasting activities.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Network Management, Underwriting, and Sales.
• Develop and maintain rating models and perform medical trend analyses.
• Support rate filing development and experience studies.
• Engage in continuing education and actuarial development.
