Job summary

Morgantown Healthcare Center is seeking an Activities Director to lead our activities team. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or the completion of a 90-hour course for activities professionals, along with strong leadership and energy to engage residents.

Responsibilities include planning and evaluating activities, involving residents in programs, attending meetings, maintaining records, and participating in community outreach and fundraising as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of activity practices and guidelines for long-term care.
• Prior management or supervisory experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation or 90-hour activity professional course with continuing education.
• Ability to make independent decisions and interact tactfully with staff, residents, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, coordinate, and evaluate resident-centered activities.
• Involve residents in planning individualized activities and advocate for their needs.
• Attend resident, family, and department meetings as required.
• Maintain records and reports related to activities.
• May participate in fundraising events and community outreach.
