Job summary

Frederick Fox LLC is seeking a Lead Accountant to oversee complex accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial records and timely reporting under GAAP. You will lead month-end and year-end closes, strengthen controls, and mentor the accounting team in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate will be strategic, proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing competing priorities while driving process improvements across accounting operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6-8 years of accounting/finance experience.
• Active CPA license required.
• Experience leading complex accounting processes and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, GL, and financial statements.
• Proficient with ERP systems and Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Oversee general ledger activities and proper recording.
• Investigate discrepancies, root-cause issues, and corrective actions.
• Review records and supporting docs to ensure data integrity.
• Lead month-end and year-end close activities.
• Provide analyses and insights to support decisions.
• Support audits and strengthen internal controls.
• Mentor and develop accounting staff.
