Job summary

S.A.M.S. Inc. in Columbia, SC is seeking an experienced Access Control & Security Systems Technician (Installer II) for a full-time, in-person role. Pay is $20–$30/hour plus overtime, with compensation based on related experience and certifications.

Responsibilities include installing and commissioning commercial security systems, reading drawings, and coordinating with senior technicians. Manufacturer certifications are valued and progression toward leadership roles is available.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of low-voltage installation experience.
• Hands-on commercial access control installation experience.
• Commercial security system installation experience.
• Ability to read construction drawings.
• Basic networking knowledge.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Install and assist with commissioning commercial physical security systems in the Columbia area and Southeast.
• Install electronic access control systems, readers, strikes, locks, panels, power supplies.
• Perform low-voltage cabling, testing, and documentation.
• Troubleshoot installation and system issues and complete punch-list items.
• Mentor Installer I teammates as skills grow.
