EXPERIENCED ACCESS CONTROL INSTALLERS — READY FOR YOUR NEXT STEP?

Jones Advisors HR Consulting is actively searching for an Access Control & Security Systems Technician on behalf of our client, S.A.M.S. Inc. This is a full‑time, in‑person opportunity for an experienced Access Control & Security Systems Technician (Installer II) to join our growing team.

This is not an entry‑level cable‑pulling position. We’re looking for someone with 2+ years of low‑voltage experience and hands‑on commercial access control/security installation experience who can complete quality work with minimal supervision, troubleshoot problems in the field, and take ownership of the job.

If you want competitive pay, paid training, manufacturer certifications, overtime opportunities, and a clear path into senior technical and leadership roles, we want to talk to you.

The 5 Traits We're Looking For
  • Quality Workmanship — You take pride in clean, professional installations and doing the job right the first time.
  • Dependability — Your team can count on you to show up, follow through, and take ownership of your work.
  • Teamwork & Leadership Potential — You work well with others, help less‑experienced installers, and have the potential to grow into a leadership role.
  • Strong Technical Troubleshooting — You can think through field issues, identify problems, and work toward solutions instead of waiting for someone else to solve them.
  • Clear Communication — You communicate professionally with customers, project leaders, and teammates and keep people informed when issues arise.
What You'll Do

As an Installer II, you'll independently install and assist with commissioning commercial physical security systems throughout the Columbia area and Southeast.

Your work will include:

  • Electronic access control systems
  • Card readers, electric strikes, magnetic locks and electrified door hardware
  • REX devices, door contacts, motion sensors and push buttons
  • Control panels and power supplies
  • Low‑voltage cabling, termination, labeling and testing
  • IP surveillance cameras and NVRs
  • Intercom and visitor management systems
  • Intrusion detection systems
  • Structured cabling as needed
  • Reading blueprints and installation drawings
  • Troubleshooting installation and system issues
  • Testing completed installations and correcting punch‑list items
  • Completing accurate job and closeout documentation

You’ll also assist senior technicians and help mentor Installer I team members as your skills and leadership abilities grow.

What You Need
  • 2+ years of low‑voltage installation experience
  • Hands‑on commercial access control installation experience
  • Commercial security system installation experience
  • Ability to read construction drawings
  • Basic networking knowledge
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with hand and power tools
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to safely work from ladders and lifts
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to successfully complete required background screening and drug testing
