Job summary

S.A.M.S. Inc. in Columbia, SC is seeking an experienced Access Control & Security Systems Technician (Installer II) for a full-time, in-person role.

The position focuses on installing, configuring, and commissioning commercial access control, door hardware, IP surveillance, and intrusion systems with minimal supervision. Candidates should have 2+ years of low-voltage and hands-on installation experience, be able to read drawings, and hold valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of low-voltage installation experience.
• Hands-on commercial access control installation experience.
• Commercial security system installation experience.
• Ability to read construction drawings.
• Basic networking knowledge.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs and pass background screening.

Responsibilities

• Independently install and assist with commissioning commercial physical security systems in the Columbia area and Southeast.
• Install electronic access control systems, card readers, electric strikes, locks, and hardware.
• Install IP surveillance cameras, NVRs, intercoms, and visitor management systems.
• Work with control panels, power supplies, and low-voltage cabling.
• Read blueprints, install drawings, troubleshoot field issues, and complete punch-list items.
• Assist senior technicians and mentor Installer I as skills grow.
