Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking a seasoned A&P Mechanic IV to supervise maintenance teams and oversee major overhauls and inspections. You will ensure regulatory compliance and lead training for junior mechanics in a high-demand aviation setting.

The role supports ISR and aviation projects, with opportunities for extended deployments to CONUS/OCONUS sites. Candidates must have a current FAA A&P certificate, at least five years of relevant experience, and willingness to work extended hours

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Higher level degree may substitute for experience.
• Active FAA A&P certification with no violations.
• Must pass written, oral and practical assessments.
• Reliable transportation to work locations.
• Advanced experience in repairing/maintaining avionics, airframes and engines.
• Ability to interpret complex diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
• Must deploy for 90+ days to OCONUS locations.
• Willing to work extended hours, holidays and shifts.
• Must have valid passport and ability to obtain travel visa.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance teams and projects.
• Oversee major overhauls and inspections.
• Ensure all work meets regulatory and safety standards.
• Conduct training for junior mechanics.
• Coordinate with other departments to streamline operations.
• Develop and implement maintenance protocols.
• Ensure thorough documentation and reporting of maintenance activities.
• Ability to deploy for extended periods to CONUS/OCONUS locations.
• Meet DoD and Combatant Command requirements for deployments.
• Pass a pre-deployment medical assessment.
• Work extended hours, holidays and shift schedules as required.
