Job summary

Dodge County is seeking a dedicated Public Safety Communications supervisor to lead, train, and schedule the Communications Center staff, ensuring timely, accurate response to county residents.

This full-time, non-exempt position requires a high school diploma, at least three years in emergency dispatching with TIME System and CPR certification, and prior lead or supervisory experience; successful background check; hours are 6:00 pm–6:00 am on 12‑hour shifts, with alternating weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three (3) years' work experience in emergency services dispatching.
• TIME System and CPR certification required.
• Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership in attracting, retaining, and developing an engaged workforce in the delivery of superior services to County residents and businesses.
• Directs employee work and assignments, trains, evaluates work, and provides feedback for performance evaluations.
• Coordinates and monitors work schedules for division staff; approves leave time and monitors training schedules and holiday/leave usage.
• Participates in recruitment/promotional, discipline, internal investigations, and discharge processes as required.
• Ensures policies, procedures and training compliance across personnel under responsibility.
• Coordinates Field Training Program for new hires.
• Maintains contact with other Public Safety Agencies to determine needs and effectiveness of policy implementation.
• Performs all duties of 911 Communications Officer as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
