Job summary

King City Gardens is seeking a Lead to manage production operations in a 60,000 sq ft facility, guiding up to 20 staff. Responsibilities include coaching, data entry in Excel, and ensuring GMP and safety standards are met on a daily basis.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and a focus on productivity and quality in a regulated cannabis production environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role with direct reports.
• 2+ years working in an assembly or production environment
• 1+ years of experience in training or coaching
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for daily data entry and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production activities while ensuring PPE, uniform, GMP, sanitation, and safety procedures are followed.
• Coach, train, and hold employees accountable for meeting production quotas and quality standards.
• Monitor team performance, provide corrective action, and report underperformance to the Supervisor or Manager.
• Train new hires within the assigned production area and support their development.
• Oversee packaging operations to ensure products are packaged accurately, efficiently, and according to quality standards and production goals.
• Accurately enter daily production data and maintain required spreadsheets and reports.
• Communicate with the Production V/S Supervisor regarding goals, performance, quality, equipment, materials and staffing.
• Help troubleshoot production issues and keep workflows running smoothly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

Leads play a critical role in keeping KCG’s production operations running safely, efficiently, and at the highest quality standards. Leading a team of up to 20 employees, this role is responsible for driving daily performance, developing team members, and ensuring production goals are consistently met. From coaching and training staff to troubleshooting issues and improving workflows, Leads help turn production plans into results. Working closely with the Supervisor, this position serves as a key link between leadership and the production floor, ensuring teams stay aligned, processes run smoothly, all while following company policies and GMP regulations. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with production management experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to use Microsoft Excel for accurate data entry and reporting.

Requirements

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for daily data entry and reporting.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of up to 20 employees.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
• Ability to de‑escalate workplace situations quickly, professionally, and effectively.

Required Experience:

• 2+ years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role with direct reports.
• 2+ years working in an assembly or production environment
• 1+ years of experience in training or coaching

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in the cannabis, food manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or other regulated production industries.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be capable of standing or sitting for long periods
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs
