Job summary

The Learning Experience – Byron Center in Byron Center, MI is seeking an experienced Early Childhood Teacher to lead our 2-year-old classroom. You will create a safe, engaging environment, implement the LEAP Curriculum, and foster language, independence, and social skills in toddlers.

Responsibilities include guiding activities, maintaining routines, documenting development, and collaborating closely with families and classroom staff to support each child's growth within Michigan licensing

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous professional daycare, preschool, childcare, or early childhood experience strongly preferred.
• Experience working with toddlers or 2-year-olds preferred.
• Lead classroom experience is a plus.
• CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom for 2-year-olds.
• Implement The Learning Experience’s proprietary LEAP Curriculum.
• Create hands-on experiences through art, music, movement, sensory play, and exploration.
• Support language development, independence, and early social skills.
• Encourage developing self-help and toileting skills.
• Maintain consistent routines and positive classroom guidance.
• Observe children’s development and maintain required documentation.
• Build strong relationships and communicate regularly with families.
• Guide and collaborate with classroom support teachers.
• Follow Michigan childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements.
