Smith+Nephew offers a two-year Supply Chain Leadership Development Program designed for high-potential graduates in Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering. The role features rotational assignments across global and local supply chain processes, mentorship from functional and executive leaders, and opportunities to develop in analytics, project work, and presentations to senior leadership.

Start Date: June 2027. Location: Memphis, TN.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Industrial Engineering or related major.
• Must be in excellent academic standing, with a 3.3 GPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop knowledge in each rotational area and achieve the objectives described in each rotation’s application.
• A functional manager and peer mentor will be assigned to each rotation.
• In addition to day-to-day rotational responsibilities, additional continuous improvement activities will be expected.
• Participate in professional development opportunities during rotation assignments to learn Smith+Nephew and the medical device industry.
• Create presentations and perform analytics for senior leadership.

This role will exist within the Supply Chain Leadership Development Program and is intended to attract top performing college students who are studying Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering or similar fields. The role is meant to provide process improvement projects, focusing on ways to propel Smith+Neb forward, while also advancing the participants' career! The program will include rotations through the various supply chain fields as well as professional development opportunities over a 2 year period.

The LDP works primarily with peers in the functional area that is the focus of their current rotation. Their role could be global, regional or local in nature but will primarily be focused on global supply chain processes. The Graduate could work with teams with multifaceted strengths across divisions, functions, cultures and reporting levels to accomplish their assignments. Key challenges include learning the Smith + Nephew supply chain business processes and supporting systems as well as the various improvement objectives contained in the Global Supply Chain strategy. The Graduate will also need to be flexible and receptive to change as each rotation will be intended to develop new skills and abilities that may not have been previously introduced.

What will you be doing?

• Develop knowledge in each rotational area and achieve the objectives described in each rotation’s application.
• A functional manager and peer mentor will be assigned to each rotation.
• In addition to day-to-day rotational responsibilities, additional continuous improvement activities will be expected.
• Participate in a variety of professional development opportunities during rotation assignments aimed at familiarizing the new graduate with Smith+Neb and the medical device industry.
• A development mentor and executive mentor will also be assigned to provide career coaching and guidance.
• Create presentations, perform analytics, or other tasks that can be presented to senior leadership.
• Present a Capstone presentation at the conclusion of each rotation to senior leaders across Supply Chain and Procurement.

What will you need to be successful?

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Industrial Engineering or related major
• Must be in excellent academic standing, with a 3.3 GPA preferred

Experience:

• Previous applicable internship, co-op, part-time or apprenticeship experience is a plus.
• High learning agility, analytical, problem-solving skills, strong communicator, leadership capabilities, well developed prioritization skills, independent thinker & team player, Strong Microsoft Office skills
• Some knowledge of medical devices and manufacturing standards and processes are a plus
