Job summary

OneWorld Community Health Centers, Inc. is seeking a Program Manager to supervise the Learning Community Center of South Omaha and its satellites. You will oversee daily operations, staffing, and safety protocols to support children and families in a dynamic nonprofit setting.

  • One or more years of management experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee child learning providers and supervise program assistants.
  • Manage center operations including opening/closing, supplies, and equipment.
  • Ensure a safe, welcoming environment for staff, families and children.
  • Hires, orients, trains, and supervises staff; coordinates with satellite programs.
  • Oversee transportation program and develop staff work plans aligned to goals.

Job description

One full-time (1.0 FTE, 40 hrs/week) position | Monday - Thursday 12: 00 pm - 8:30 pm, Fridays 8 hours (daytime), and one or two Saturdays a month | Learning Community Center of South Omaha (24th and M) |Job DutiesThe Program Manager is responsible for overseeing child learning providers and supervising the Program Assistants at the Learning Community Center of South Omaha and its satellite programs, as well as overseeing the main center building and its operations.Manages the center facility opening, closing, supplies, and equipment. Communicates with contractors, the landlord, and IT staff to support the effective cleaning and maintenance of the building, its grounds, and its equipment. Creates a warm and welcoming environment for staff, participants, and visitors alike.In collaboration with the Director, ensures the continuous safety of the center's parents, children, visitors, and staff. Serves as the on-site point person for visitors, families, and staff.Hires, orients, trains, and oversees the day-to-day effectiveness of program assistants. Connects with other departments and satellite(s) to develop projects for the program assistant team and ensures fair distribution of work between the staff. Oversees the transportation program at the center and its satellites.Maintains an updated work plan for the child learning team that is aligned to strategic goals and objectives. Establishes a fair distribution of work duties amongst the child learning staff. Manages staffing to ensure the team is neither over- nor understaffed during the program year and during the summer. Requests supplies for child learning rooms and tracks expenses. Regularly visits satellite(s) to ensure the entire team is supported.Ensures that the environment in the child learning rooms, the outside play area, and the center building as a whole are all safe and positive learning environments for children and families, with a special focus on building social-emotional skills.Proactively works with child learning staff and participant families to determine when a child needs to be referred to outside resources for developmental delays or behavioral concerns. Helps families connect to Head Start programs and high-quality preschool/PreK classes.The tasks outlined above are intended to provide a general overview of the role and are not an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or job functions.
