Job summary

Oneworld Community Health Centers is seeking a full-time on-site Center Manager for the Learning Community of South Omaha. The role requires coordinating operations from 2:30-8:30 p.m.

Mon-Thu with some Saturdays, and collaborating with leadership to ensure safety and effective program delivery. The position demands a Bachelor's degree, management experience, strong English/Spanish communication, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in public administration, management, education, social services, or related field.
  • One or more years of management experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish (written, verbal, and presentational) required.
  • Ability to set priorities, implement action plans, and meet deadlines.
  • Close attention to detail, strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Commitment to cultural respect and value of diversity.
  • Willingness to work occasional weekday evenings.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and Mini Bus Driver Safety class completed.

Responsibilities

  • Open/close the center facility and manage supplies and equipment.
  • Be the on-site point of contact for visitors, families, and staff.
  • Hire, orient, train, and manage program assistants and oversee transportation operations.
  • Maintain a work plan for the child learning team aligned to goals and manage staffing levels.
  • Ensure safe, positive learning environments in classrooms, play areas, and the center.
  • Refer children to external resources for developmental or behavioral concerns and connect families to Head Start and preschool options.

One full-time, 40-hour, on-site position at the Learning Community of South Omaha at 23rd and M Street in Omaha. The position must work from 2:30-8:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday and occasional Saturdays, but the exact schedule can be coordinated with the hiring manager.

Job Duties
  • Manages the center facility opening, closing, supplies, and equipment. Communicates with contractors, the landlord, and IT staff to support the effective cleaning and maintenance of the building, its grounds, and its equipment. Creates a warm and welcoming environment for staff, participants, and visitors alike.
  • In collaboration with the Director, ensures the continuous safety of the center's parents, children, visitors, and staff. Serves as the on-site point person for visitors, families, and staff.
  • Hires, orients, trains, and oversees the day-to-day effectiveness of program assistants. Connects with other departments and satellite(s) to develop projects for the program assistant team and ensures fair distribution of work between the staff. Oversees the transportation program at the center and its satellites.
  • Maintains an updated work plan for the child learning team that is aligned to strategic goals and objectives. Establishes a fair distribution of work duties amongst the child learning staff. Manages staffing to ensure the team is neither over- nor understaffed during the program year and during the summer. Requests supplies for child learning rooms and tracks expenses. Regularly visits satellite(s) to ensure the entire team is supported.
  • Ensures that the environment in the child learning rooms, the outside play area, and the center building as a whole are all safe and positive learning environments for children and families, with a special focus on building social-emotional skills.
  • Proactively works with child learning staff and participant families to determine when a child needs to be referred to outside resources for developmental delays or behavioral concerns. Helps families connect to Head Start programs and high-quality preschool/PreK classes.
