Responsibilities

• Communicate with all stakeholders about students’ needs and goals via IEP meetings.
• Assess students’ skills and determine educational needs.
• Adapt lessons to meet individual student needs.
• Develop and implement IEPs for each student.
• Plan activities tailored to each student’s abilities.
• Teach and mentor students in various settings (class, small group, 1:1).
• Implement and monitor IEPs, assess progress, and update as needed.
• Discuss progress with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators.
• Supervise and mentor teacher assistants working with students with disabilities.
• Prepare students for transitions between grades and life after school.
