Job summary

KHS, a leading packaging systems manufacturer and a subsidiary of Salzgitter AG, is seeking a layout engineer to design and optimize production lines. You will develop 2D/3D layouts, integrate equipment, and create accurate line models for customer sites.

Travel up to 20% is required as you coordinate with Sales, Project Management, and Site Installations to deliver high‑quality packaging solutions.

Qualifications

Ability to deliver proper layouts to the customer.
Working knowledge of KHS equipment and conveyor routing.
Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software, with AutoCAD and Creo preferred; experience with SAP and MS Office.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the arrangement and placement of all machines and peripheral support equipment required for a packaging line based on project specifications.
Layout conveyor routing.
Develop finished scale drawing showing efficient location for each piece of equipment and necessary working area.
Integrate customer’s existing equipment, vendor equipment and peripheral equipment into an efficient line.
Visit customer facilities to observe, note and measure plant arrangements, existing equipment, utilities, and building restrictions.
Create 3D production line models, perform laser scans of customer facilities, and process point cloud data for layout development.
Provide technical guidance and support to Sales, Technical Sales, Project Management, and Site Installation teams as needed.
