Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Lawn Care Technician to join our outdoor-focused team in Gorham, ME. You will perform fertilization and pest management on lawns and shrubs using spray and injection tools, delivering professional results in every property.

You’ll work on-site, handle equipment such as trucks and sprayers, and communicate clearly with clients about diagnoses and prescribed care. A valid driver's license is required, with pesticide/cdl licenses preferred.

• Valid Driver's license required
• Lawn/Turf Care & Landscaping background preferred
• Complete Davey Tree Qualified Lawn Care Tech training program upon hire
• Complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: pesticide licenses and CDL credentials

Responsibilities

• Fertilize lawns and shrubs using spray and injection tools
• Apply weed control, herbicides, and fertilizer
• Explain diagnosis and prescribed pest control, aerification and fertilization to customers
• Monitor lawn quality and fertilizing methods; report progress to customers and supervisors
• Operate and maintain equipment including trucks and sprayers

Position Overview

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Cultivate your career and fertilize your future!
• Properly applying weed control/herbicides/fertilizer and so much more.
• Communicate and educate the client regarding the diagnosis and the prescribed pest control, aerification and fertilization service(s) with customers.
• Continuously monitor lawn quality and fertilizing methods after application and communicate progress to customers and supervisors.
• Drive, use, maintain and properly operate equipment (truck and sprayer).

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors
• Required: Valid Driver's license
• Preferred: Background in Lawn/Turf Care & Landscaping
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Qualified Lawn Care Tech training program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide, CDL and related licenses and certificates
