Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a field-based technician to perform fertilization and pest management on trees, shrubs, and lawns at private, government, and business properties. The role requires identifying pests and plant health issues, educating clients, and maintaining equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age to work in the field.
• Ability to complete the Davey first aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred licenses related to pesticides (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Fertilize and manage pests on trees, shrubs and lawns on private, governmental or business residences.
• Identify insects, weeds, fungus conditions, and pest-prone areas.
• Educate clients on diagnosis and prescribed pest control, aerification, seeding and fertilization services.
• Monitor lawn quality and fertilizing methods after application and report progress to customers and supervisors.
• Drive, operate, and maintain truck and sprayer equipment.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Cultivate your career and fertilize your future!
• Properly identify and diagnose insects, weeds, fungus conditions, and pest prone areas.
• Communicate with and educate the client regarding the diagnosis and the prescribed pest control, aerification, seeding, and fertilization service with customers.
• Continuously monitor lawn quality and fertilizing methods after application and communicate progress to customers and supervisors.
• Drive, use, maintain and properly operate truck and sprayer equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age to work in the field.

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Preferred: landscape Applicator experience
• Preferred: background in Horticulture, or Landscaping
• Preferred: Turf, Weed, Tree and shrub ID knowledge
• Ability to complete the Davey first aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire

• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses
