Job summary
University of Missouri-Kansas City is seeking an Instructional and Reference Librarian at the Leon E. Bloch Law Library.
This role provides reference and research services to law students, faculty, and the surrounding community, and will teach legal research in synchronous and asynchronous formats. The successful candidate will collaborate with the law school, library staff, and campus partners while developing expertise in digital resources and instructional materials.
Qualifications
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school or equivalent legal research experience
- MLIS from an ALA-accredited program or current enrollment with anticipated completion date
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of legal research techniques and tools including Westlaw and Lexis
Responsibilities
- Provide reference and research support for students, faculty, and patrons
- Deliver legal research instruction to JD students
- Develop legal research instructional materials for LLM/MLS programs
- Develop expertise in digital resource management and the library's databases
- Develop and maintain legal research guides for students and faculty
- Participate in strategic planning for the Law Library
- Collaborate with Law School, library staff, and campus partners
- Serve on committees and pursue professional development opportunities
