Job summary

The Li Li Law Library at Columbia University is seeking a Reference Librarian to provide in-person and virtual reference service in all areas of law to faculty, students, and others. The successful candidate will participate in the Administrative Rotation System, including assisting with collection development, coordinating outreach, and organizing robust legal research instruction.

Responsibilities include training law students through classroom teaching, workshops, and one-on-one instruction;

Qualifications

• JD from accredited institution (completed by start date).
• Extensive experience with legal and non-legal research tools.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong service and teamwork orientation; willingness to learn new technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person and virtual reference service across all areas of law.
• Train law students and others through classroom teaching, workshops, and one-on-one instruction.
• Create and maintain LibGuides and other instructional materials.
• Assist with collection development and outreach to faculty and students.
• Participate in administrative rotation and weekend reference coverage.
