Job summary

Nova Southwestern University is seeking a Law Librarian to provide outreach, reference services, and instruction for faculty, students, alumni, and the public. The role emphasizes technologically mediated platforms, institutional repository services, web, and LMS outreach.

Responsibilities include teaching legal research methods, supporting collection development, and using Westlaw, Lexis, and library technologies to enhance classroom learning and scholarly work within the College of Law.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an ABA Accredited Law School.
• MLS degree preferred or enrollment within two years of hire; or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of related law library or legal research experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides outreach and reference services and instruction in-person and virtually.
• Contributes to collection development and serves on relevant committees.
• Stays current with best practices in legal research and teaching methods.
• Communicates effectively with students to support educational goals.
• Promotes library resources and services to students and faculty.
• Leads workshops and lectures on legal research topics.
• Instructs in Westlaw, Lexis, LMS, and other electronic resources.
• Leverages library technologies to enhance learning and scholarly work.
• Develops instructional modules and research guides for the law library.
• Participates in Library Faculty Liaison activities and professional groups.
• Serves on local, regional, and national law library organizations.
