Job summary

The Indiana Law Enforcement Training Board seeks an Executive Director to lead the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. This role oversees ~60 employees, campus operations, and training programs for law enforcement across the state, setting statewide policies on fitness, use of force, and high-liability activities.

Required are a decade of law enforcement experience with executive leadership, a bachelor’s degree (graduate degree preferred), and proven budget and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

• Ten years of full-time law enforcement experience with five years in executive/administrative roles.
• Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree preferred in related fields.
• Experience in curriculum development and adult learning strategies.
• Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders and political entities.
• Proven ability to secure grants and attract monetary support.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Executive Director for Indiana Law Enforcement Academy/Law Enforcement Training Board.
• Represent the agency at executive meetings and set daily operation policies.
• Develop training policies for basic, continuing, and advanced programs.
• Oversee training quality, certification and decertification processes.
• Develop biennial budgets and defend funding before committees.
