The City of Union City is seeking a Police Cadet to support police personnel in Records, Animal Control, Parking Enforcement, and Fleet Maintenance. This is a non-sworn, part-time classification designed to provide practical law enforcement experience while gaining exposure to real-world duties.

Candidates must be at least 18, legally eligible to work in the United States, and pass a background check with fingerprinting. Availability to work 16–30 hours per week is required.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent completed.
• Minimum age 18 at appointment and U.S. work eligibility.
• Must pass a background investigation and fingerprint checks.
• No disqualifying felony record; able to work 16–30 hours weekly.

Responsabilidades

• Assist police personnel in Records, Animal Control, Parking Enforcement, and Fleet Maintenance as assigned.
• Copying, indexing, filing, retrieving documents and reports; assist at front counter or by phone.
• Conduct transactions from cash drawer for reports and payments; data entry and research.
• Transport animals to shelter or vet, inspect equipment, and support court testimony when required.
• Patrol assigned areas, issue warnings/citations, and report hazards or faulty signals.
• Maintain logs, inventories, and assist with vehicle maintenance coordination.
