The City of Auburn Hills Police Department is seeking cadets for a part-time, uniformed, non-sworn position in the Support Services Division. The Cadet Program exposes Criminal Justice students to police work through training in Community Policing, Problem Oriented Policing, and front desk duties to maintain 24/7 service.

Qualified applicants are high school graduates or GED recipients, currently enrolled in a criminal justice program, hold a valid driver's license, and have basic computer

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent and currently enrolled in a criminal justice program or related field of study; students enrolled in other programs must be preapproved by the Chief of Police or designee
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
• Working knowledge of computers and electronic data processing; working knowledge of modern police practices and procedures.
• Ability to effectively meet and deal with the public; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to handle stressful situations

Responsabilités

• The Cadet Program is designed to expose Criminal Justice college students to police work through training and equipping cadets in Community Policing and Problem Oriented Policing, and providing front desk support.
• Cadets are placed where there is a current need for their services while maintaining 24/7 service at the front desk.
