Job summary

The Town of Warrenton seeks an Accreditation Manager (Grade 9) to revise and update General Orders, policies, and procedures, ensuring ongoing compliance with VLEPSC standards. The position operates with a high degree of independence and reports through conferences, reports, and results.

Responsibilities include administering the accreditation program, developing policy updates, coordinating annual assessments and audits, delivering training, and serving as the liaison with accreditation bodies

Qualifications

• Knowledge of VLEPSC standards and acc reaccreditation process.
• Advanced knowledge of law enforcement procedures, practices, and guidelines with emphasis in accreditation and policy creation.
• Excellent writing skills and ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with Town personnel and the public.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to act as a lobbyist in accreditation matters before VALEAC committees.
• Strong spelling, grammar, arithmetic, and business English.
• Ability to learn and apply technical terminology related to police work.
• Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.

Responsibilities

• Accreditation Program Administration: administers and coordinates the Department's accreditation program and maintains files and plans.
• Policy Development and Compliance: develops and revises policies to align with laws and standards.
• Accreditation Assessments and Audits: coordinates annual reviews, audits, site visits and documentation.
• Training and Organizational Support: develops and delivers training on policies and standards.
• Collaboration and Representation: liaison with accreditation organizations and regulators.
