Job summary

CGS Federal is seeking a Law Clerk I to support a large federal agency’s legal mission. You will perform litigation support, including research, cite checking, and drafting documents. The role emphasizes collaboration, accuracy under pressure, and growth opportunities within a government-contracting environment.

The position requires a JD or active law student, with strong familiarity with Westlaw, Lexis, and related tools, plus ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• JD or ABA‑accredited law school status with at least one year completed.
• Strong legal research, citation and drafting abilities for litigation.
• Familiarity with federal/state court systems and legal research resources.
• Experience with cite checking and blue book standards.
• Proficiency with Word, databases, spreadsheets, and imaging tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex legal research for trial staff.
• Draft motions, briefs, and memoranda of law.
• Cite-check using online tools and blue book formatting.
• Review cases and research pertinent laws for ROI explanations.
• Support attorneys through all phases of litigation.
