The role involves evaluating complaints for HIPAA and civil rights concerns, interviewing witnesses, and reviewing policies and records. Requirements include a JD from an ABA-accredited school or equivalent, strong English communication, and the ability to work independently or in a team within a fast-paced government

Qualifications

• Must hold an ABA-accredited JD or equivalent and relevant experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication; strong English grammar.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience handling confidential information with discretion.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate complaints to identify potential HIPAA or federal civil rights violations.
• Provide written comments to the COR.
• Timely respond to correspondence and phone requests for technical assistance.
• Draft documents related to complaint resolution including investigations and corrective actions.
• Conduct interviews of complainants and witnesses.
• Review policies, medical records, reports and audits.
• Apply nondiscrimination and conscience regulations to investigation and compliance work.
• Support training and professional development opportunities.
