FSA Federal in Washington, DC is seeking a Law Clerk to support the FBI's Legal Forfeiture Unit. You will manage forfeiture cases, conduct research, and draft legal documents under supervision.

The ideal candidate has a law degree or is an ABA-approved law student with strong writing, research, and communication abilities, plus the capacity to work well under pressure in a team environment.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor degree or currently a student at an ABA-accredited law school with at least one year completed
  • Experience conducting legal research using various research tools and law library resources
  • Excellent oral and written communication, including legal writing
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and databases used in legal practice
  • Ability to work in a team environment and remain professional under pressure

Responsibilities

  • Manage forfeiture cases for the team, conducting research and legal reviews, drafting legal documents
  • Under supervision, assist attorneys with the litigation process
  • Review work of paralegals and clerks
  • Prepare all documents related to the litigation process including motions and briefs
  • Screen documents for privilege
  • Coordinate with FBI unit members and maintain strong writing and communication
  • Legal writing sample may be requested
  • Perform other duties as assigned
