Job summary

The Office of Career & Professional Development (OCPD) at the University of Wisconsin Law School seeks an energetic, collaborative professional to join our career advising team. We provide individualized counseling, job-search resources, networking opportunities, and recruitment programs for a diverse student body and alumni.

As Assistant or Associate Director, you will counsel JD students on planning, prepare them for interviews, and help build their professional networks.

Qualifications

Post-JD experience (several years) in career development or related field.
Proficiency with technology and presentation tools.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Commitment to an inclusive environment for students.
Ability to manage competing demands and time effectively.
Understanding of legal hiring processes and/or law student development.

Responsibilities

Provide career counseling and advise JD students on planning and materials; review resumes, letters, and interview prep.
Develop and execute programs and events to enhance career skills and networking opportunities.
Serve as primary contact for judicial clerkship advising and alumni career support.
Track and report summer and post-graduate employment data for internal and external reporting.
Perform other duties as assigned.
