Job summary

Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel is seeking a Laundry Worker in Tama, IA for a full-time, non-safety sensitive role. You will operate laundry machines to clean clothing, linens, and hotel items, loading and washing according to procedures and handling fabrics with care.

• Previous laundry experience preferred.
• Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance with Sac & Fox Gaming Commission regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operates and tends to laundry machines to clean articles such as clothing, sheets, blankets, and other linens used by the hotel and property.
• Loads articles into a washer as instructed, adding detergents or cleaning agents as needed.
• Runs machines according to proper procedures and handles washed items after cycle completion.
• Collects dirty linen from hotel floors and manages sorting of articles by type.
• Operates iron/press and ensures equipment cleanliness.
• Monitors safety procedures and adheres to MSDS guidelines when using chemicals.
• Communicates with staff and other departments to maintain efficient department operation.
• Safeguards company assets and follows policies of the department, company, and regulatory bodies.
• Maintains guest and co-worker safety by monitoring the casino environment and following safety procedures.

Job Summary

Operates and tends to laundry machines to clean articles such as wearing apparel, sheets, blankets, and other linens used by the hotel and property.

• Loads articles into a washer as instructed, being aware of the addition of detergents, soaps, or other cleaning agents.
• Runs machines according to proper procedures.
• Lifts clean wet articles from the washer and places them successively into wringers and dryers for measured time cycles.
• Collects dirty linen from hotel floors.
• Runs iron/press according to proper procedures.
• Sorts dried articles according to type.
• Ensures cleanliness of equipment.
• Is aware of, and abides by, proper blood-borne pathogens safety procedures.
• Abides by the regulations set forth by the material safety data sheets when using chemicals.
• Communicates and networks effectively with staff, other departments, and outside representatives in order to maintain a productive and effective department operation.
• Safeguard and account for the assets of the owners.
• Comply with policies and procedures required by the department, the company, the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission, and the National Indian Gaming Commission.
• Monitor the casino environment and follow established safety procedures to provide for the safety of guests and co-workers.
• Work respectfully and effectively as part of the company team to ensure guest satisfaction, asset protection, and co-worker respect.
• Report to work on time and as required in professional attire, display a high level of personal cleanliness and follow personal appearance standards.

Supplemental Job Duties

• May dissolve soap granules in hot water and steam to make liquid soap.
• May soak contaminated articles according to proper safety procedures.
• May sort and count articles to verify quantities.
• Attends all required meetings and training sessions.
• Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

May be exposed to load and continual noise levels and a smoke filled environment. Some occasional lifting up to 25 pounds will be required. Involves significant walking and standing, bending, stretching, twisting, or reaching with your body, arms, and/or legs. Must be confidential.

Minimum Job Qualifications

Knowledge/Education/Work Experiences:

Previous laundry experience preferred. Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission.

Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position. Must be flexible with shift and days off. Must be able to meet all non-supervisory training and education requirements.

Restrictions

This position is PROHIBITED from playing all casino games while on duty, except as authorized for team member tournaments. Otherwise, this position may play any casino game while off duty. Team members and members of the household are prohibited from entering company contests and giveaways established for our guests.
