Meskwaki Nation is seeking a part-time host/hostess with cashier responsibilities in Tama, IA. You will welcome guests, assist seating, and handle payments using the POS system, ensuring smooth dining room operations and excellent guest experiences.

Non-Safety Sensitive
Welcomes guests, assist seating guests when needed, helping to ensure quality service. Handles customer payment transactions in an effective and efficient manner.
May be exposed to loud and continual noise levels and a smoke filled environment. Frequent lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds will be required with occasional periods of lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds. Must be able to stand/walk for prolonged periods of time. Requires frequent bending, squatting, reaching above shoulder level, balancing, and pushing or pulling equipment. Some exposure to dining room related chemicals. Must wear tread safety shoes. Follow company and departmental appearance standards (wear approved uniform; no extreme hairstyles or jewelry; clean hands, fingernails and hair; no chewing gum or smoking cigarettes while working; no offensive tattoos visible to guests; no nail polish or overpowering colognes; etc.).
Knowledge/Education/Work Experiences: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be able to pass departmental test requirements. Previous host/hostess and cashier experience preferred. Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission.
Skills/Abilities: Must be able to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, with other members of the staff and guests. Must have good reading, writing, and math skills. Must be able to count money and make change correctly. Basic computer or POS system skills required. Must be able to read and understand written policies, procedures, etc. Must possess normal hearing and vision abilities. Must be reliable, courteous and friendly and be able to work directly with the general public. Must be flexible with shift and days off. Must be able to handle busy and stressful situations. Must be able to meet all non-supervisory training and education requirements.
