Job summary

Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel is seeking a part-time guest service associate to maintain buffet areas, clear tables, and ensure a clean dining environment. This entry-level role requires the ability to obtain a gaming license and flexibility in hours.

You will work with a team to provide prompt, friendly service to guests. Responsibilities include clearing and sanitizing tables, assisting with dish room duties, and supporting wait staff during peak periods while adhering to safety and policy

Job Summary

Maintains and upholds buffet tables clean from dirty plates, glasses and silverware with prompt and friendly service.

• Clears off dirty tables when customers are finished with their meal.
• Wipes down and sanitizes tables.
• Take back dirty plates, glasses and silverware to the dish room area
• Empty all of the filled trash cans, replace the used bags, and bring filled bags to a dumpster or trash compactor.
• May be required to vacuum or sweep the floor and chairs to clean up any food spills.
• Wrap or sort silverware when needed
• Communicates and networks effectively with staff, other departments, and outside representatives in order to maintain a productive and effective department operation.
• Safeguard and account for the assets of the owners.
• Comply with policies and procedures required by the department, the company, the Meskwaki Gaming Commission, and the National Indian Gaming Commission.
• Monitor the casino environment and follow established safety procedures to provide for the safety of guests and co-workers.
• Work respectfully and effectively as part of the company team to ensure guest satisfaction, asset protection, and co-worker respect.
• Report to work on time and as required in professional attire, display a high level of personal cleanliness and follow personal appearance standards.

Supplemental Job Duties

• Attends all required meetings and training sessions.
• Assists wait staff during busy periods.
• Organizes and read invoices.
• Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

May be exposed to loud and continual noise levels and a smoke filled environment. Substantial lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds will be required with occasional periods of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand/walk for prolonged periods of time. Requires frequent bending, squatting, reaching above shoulder level, balancing, and pushing or pulling equipment. Must wear tread safety shoes. Will be exposed to restaurant related chemicals and warm and cold temperature variations. Must wear sanitation gloves when required (i.e. handling leftover foods). Must be confidential.

Minimum Job Qualifications

Knowledge/Education/Work Experiences: Entry-level. Must be 16 years of age. Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission.

Skills/Abilities: Must be flexible with working hours and days off. Must be able to work directly with the general public and have exceptional guest service skills. Must be able to handle busy and stressful situations. Must have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to get along well with others. Must be able to meet all non-supervisory training and education requirements.

Restrictions

This position is PROHIBITED from playing all casino games while on duty, except as authorized for employee tournaments. Otherwise, this position may play any casino game while off duty. Employees and members of the household are prohibited from entering company contests and giveaways established for our guests.
