Job summary

Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel is seeking a General Maintenance Worker to maintain, install, service, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and plumbing systems in the casino complex and hotel facilities in Tama, IA. The role requires the ability to troubleshoot varied equipment with limited supervision and to coordinate with skilled trades.

Qualifications

• Requires certificate of training or one year work experience in a relevant field.
• Must be able to comprehend and follow literature regarding proper installation and maintenance of equipment, tools, and devices.
• Must have strong diagnostic and problem solving abilities.
• Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance with Sac & Fox Gaming Commission regulations.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair commercial grade HVAC, plumbing, and electrical components, systems, and equipment.
• Follow blueprints and diagrams to install HVAC, plumbing, and electrical components, systems, and equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical components, systems, and equipment.
• Assist and coordinate with a variety of skilled trade personnel to complete job assignments.
• Submit progress reports, job reports, and completed work orders issued by Department Management in a timely manner.
• Communicate and network effectively with staff, other departments, and outside representatives to maintain department operation.

Job Summary

Maintain, install, services, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and plumbing systems, equipment & components for the casino complex. Maintain the gaming & hotel facility structures and finishes for appearance & functionality. Troubleshoot and repair all areas of the facility involving work of a varied nature with limited supervision.

• Troubleshoot and repair commercial grade HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical components, systems, & equipment.
• Follow blueprints & diagrams to install HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical components, systems, & equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance & inspections on HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical components, systems, & equipment.
• Perform minor carpentry repairs to building structures & finishes.
• Use and maintain tools & equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations & industry standards.
• Review, verify, & follow all applicable codes & regulations, manufacturer recommendations, and industry standards regarding equipment, systems, and work practices.
• Assist and coordinate with a variety of skilled trade personnel to complete job assignments.
• Use Company PCs to monitor HVAC automation network.
• Submit progress reports, job reports, and completed work orders issued by Department Management in a timely manner.
• Communicate and network effectively with staff, other departments, and outside representatives in order to maintain a productive and effective department operation.
• Safeguard and account for the assets of the owners.
• Comply with policies and procedures required by the department, the company, the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission, and the National Indian Gaming Commission.
• Monitor the casino environment and follow established safety procedures to provide for the safety of guests and co-workers.
• Work respectfully and effectively as part of the company team to ensure guest satisfaction, asset protection, and co-worker respect.
• Report to work on time and as required in professional attire, display a high level of personal cleanliness and follow personal appearance standards.

Supplemental Job Duties

• Provide building maintenance service to other departments as requested via radio dispatch and work order requests.
• Keep time, material for assigned work orders, submits to supervisor upon completion.
• Notify supervisor of any discrepancies while performing procedures on machinery and/or equipment that may require service from an outside vendor.
• Submit Daily Report (work log) to supervisor at end of shift.
• Attend all required meetings and training sessions.
• Perform other job related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

May be exposed to loud and continual noise levels and a smoke filled environment. Moderate lifting and pulling up to 50 pounds is required. Significant reaching, twisting, crawling, stooping, grasping, climbing, kneeling, and use of hands, wrists, arms and legs are required. There will be moderate exposure to hot and cold temperature variations, dust, odors, elevated working conditions, hazardous equipment and high voltage. Required to be on-call 24 hours a day, including weekends. Must be confidential.

Minimum Job Qualifications

Knowledge/Education/Work Experiences: Requires certificate of training or one (1) year work experience in relevant field. Must have be able to comprehend and follow literature regarding proper installation & maintenance of equipment, tools, & devices. Must have strong diagnostic & problem solving abilities. Valid Iowa Driver License preferred. Must have ability to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission.

Skills/Abilities : Must be able to meet deadlines and work independently with limited supervision. Must be able to follow all Environment, Public Health, and Safety (EPHS) requirements. Must have strong computer skills. Must be able to handle busy and stressful situations. Must possess poise and tact. Must be flexible with working hours and days off. Must have good organizational and communication skills. Must have knowledge of blueprints and schematics with attention to details. Must be able to meet all non-supervisory training and education requirements.

Restrictions

This position is PROHIBITED from playing all casino games while on duty, except as authorized for employee tournaments. Otherwise, this position may play any casino game while off duty. Employees and members of the household are prohibited from entering company contests and giveaways established for our guests.
