Job summary

The Rescue Mission of Roanoke is seeking a Laundry Services Technician to support shelter guests by operating laundry equipment, maintaining facilities, and coordinating volunteers. The role requires attention to safety, reliability, and a compassionate approach in a faith-based, community-focused environment.

Responsibilities include serving guests' laundry needs, distributing cleaned items, and working with staff to ensure smooth daily operations across the laundry ministry.

• Organize and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
• Maintain and organize inventory.
• Serve the needs of the shelter guests.

Laundry Services Technician

serves to provide for the safe operation of the Rescue Mission’s laundry services ministry, which operates 365 days a year. Supports the laundry needs of the Mission.

Reports to:

Director of Shelter Services

Hours of Availability:

Full Time - 6:00pm -3:00am; (days may vary) up to 40hrs/ week. Weekends & holidays as scheduled

Part Time - 3:00am - 11:00am; days may vary. Weekends & holidays as scheduled

Compensation

$16.50/hour (non-exempt/hourly)

Laundry Services Technicians provide laundry services for shelter guests and associated ministries within the Rescue Mission. They maintain the laundry area and equipment for proper usage. Distribute completed laundry to appropriate guests. Supervise volunteers with instructions and support.

Responsible for the safety and security of the laundry area to include equipment and personal belongings.

All Rescue Mission of Roanoke team members may be asked to complete other duties as assigned by the Mission Leadership team.
