Fairmont Grand Del Mar in San Diego invites you to join our luxury hospitality team as Laundry Supervisor. You will oversee daily laundry operations, supervise staff, and ensure textile quality and inventory standards.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent is preferred.
• One year of experience is a plus.
• Must communicate well verbally and in writing.
• Reading and counting is essential.
• Computer efficiency in Excel and Word is required.
• Basic laundry knowledge with about one year preferred.
• Ability to coach, counsel and develop employees.

Responsibilities

• Staff Management: Train, schedule, and evaluate laundry attendants and staff.
• Operations Oversight: Monitor sorting, washing, drying, folding, and ironing processes.
• Inventory Control: Track linen supplies, uniforms, and cleaning chemicals, and assist with ordering.
• Equipment Maintenance: Inspect washers/dryers and coordinate repairs with maintenance/engineering.
• Safety and Hygiene: Enforce sanitation guidelines, safety rules, and PPE usage.

Job Description

We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Fairmont Grand Del Mar, as our new Laundry Supervisor.

Responsibilities

The Laundry Supervisor’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to managing the daily laundry operations, oversees staff, and maintains textile quality and inventory at Fairmont Grand Del Mar.

• Staff Management: Train, schedule, and evaluate laundry attendants and staff.
• Operations Oversight: Monitor sorting, washing, drying, folding, and ironing processes to maintain high standards of all departments and guests that use the Fairmont laundry department.
• Inventory Control: Track linen supplies, uniforms, and cleaning chemicals, and help with ordering as needed.
• Equipment Maintenance: Inspect commercial washers and dryers, report breakdowns, and coordinate repairs with the maintenance or engineering team as needed.
• Safety and Hygiene: Enforce sanitation guidelines, safety rules, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous experience of one year is a plus.
• Must have the ability to communicate well both verbally and written.
• Reading and counting is essential.
• This person must be computer efficient in both Excel and Word.
• Requires Basic knowledge of Laundry, approximately one year.
• Must be able to coach, counsel and develop employees through basic skill.
• Must be able to motivate by example either on the production floor or in a classroom environment.
• Needs the aptitude to promote minimum levels of skills and abilities that would create a positive outcome, in a hot or challenging work environment.
• Must have the ability to establish, and maintain a safe working environment according to OSHA regulations, that would protect both the employee and coworker

Wage Information

The hourly rate for this position is $25.00.
