Job summary
Fairmont Grand Del Mar in California seeks a Laundry Supervisor to manage daily laundry operations, supervise staff, and maintain textile quality and inventory. You will oversee sorting, washing, drying, folding, and ironing to uphold luxury standards in a five-star resort setting.

Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One year of experience is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Reading and counting essential.
- Proficient with Excel and Word.
- Basic knowledge of laundry operations (about one year).
- Ability to coach, counsel and develop employees.
- Ability to motivate by example on the floor or in training.
- Maintain a safe workplace per OSHA.
Responsibilities

- Track linen supplies, uniforms, and cleaning chemicals.

The Laundry Supervisor’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to managing the daily laundry operations, oversees staff, and maintains textile quality and inventory at Fairmont Grand Del Mar.
- Staff Management: Train, schedule, and evaluate laundry attendants and staff.
- Operations Oversight: Monitor sorting, washing, drying, folding, and ironing processes to maintain high standards of all departments and guests that use the Fairmont laundry department.
- Inventory Control: Track linen supplies, uniforms, and cleaning chemicals, and help with ordering as needed.
- Equipment Maintenance: Inspect commercial washers and dryers, report breakdowns, and coordinate repairs with the maintenance or engineering team as needed.
- Safety and Hygiene: Enforce sanitation guidelines, safety rules, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- High School graduate or equivalent is preferred.
- Previous experience of one year is a plus.
- Must have the ability to communicate well both verbally and written.
- Reading and counting is essential.
- This person must be computer efficient in both Excel and Word.
- Requires Basic knowledge of Laundry, approximately one year.
- Must be able to coach, counsel and develop employees through basic skill.
- Must be able to motivate by example either on the production floor or in a classroom environment.
- Needs the aptitude to promote minimum levels of skills and abilities that would create a positive outcome, in a hot or challenging work environment.
- Must have the ability to establish, and maintain a safe working environment according to OSHA regulations, that would protect both the employee and coworker
The hourly rate for this position is $25.00.
